South Korean Onion Farms are Inviting Graduates from Kerala
South Korea had organized four seminars in Kochi that saw hundreds of young graduates of Kerala listening to the content presented intently.
There are commendable employment opportunities in South Korea that can enable young graduates from Kerala to earn anywhere between Rs 74,900 and Rs 1 12,300 while living in South Korea.
Statistics reveal that technical and management graduates aspire to land in South Korea for jobs available in the Onion Farms there. The Kerala Government recruiting agency organizing these pre-recruitment seminars over the past few weeks has divulged this information.
Overseas Development and Employment Promotion Consultants Ltd (ODEPC), a state government undertaking that conducts recruitment processes for foreign employers seeking workers from Kerala, had advertised on its website openings at two South Korean onion farms.
This agency was contacted by the South Korean Onion Farms two weeks ago. The advertisement already saw almost 5K applications for 100 vacancies announced. This information was shared by the ODEPC Managing Director, Mr. Anoop K.A.
The applicants were then invited to the orientation seminars. Two orientation seminars each were conducted in Thiruvananthapuram and Kochi. However, from the 5000 applicants, only a thousand aspirants showed up.
Coming to the Onion farms in South Korea, two Onion farms are located in the islands of Sinan and Muan. The recruits will primarily be given a work permit of one year. This can be extended for another three years upon renewal. The recruiting company in South Korea is authentic, and this has been confirmed by the Indian and South Korean embassies in New Delhi and Seoul.
ODEPC has a reputation for getting almost 10,000 workers hired overseas from Kerala since 1977. Another organization that has a similar reputation is NORKA.
The shortlisted candidates will now be interviewed online before entering into a job contract.
From the applicant pool, some aspirants are already employed. Among the employed ones, a few aspirants have relevant experience, while some candidates want to live in South Korea for a year to learn the latest farming techniques.
Some freshers are zealous about visiting South Korea, and learning the language, and are looking forward to eventually settling down in the country replete with job opportunities for the deserving.
Many young graduates are looking forward to going to South Korea to obtain decent employment. The aftermath of the global pandemic and the devastation of employment opportunities make many graduates desperate to procure meaningful employment and kick-start a consistent career.
The orientation seminars conducted by the ODEPC are very informative considering the South Korean culture, lifestyle, expenses, food, and climatic conditions. Young graduates dreaming of settling down in South Korea need to know about these nuances before deciding to be there.
