New Zealand beckons Aspirant Indian Farm Workers

New Zealand beckons Aspirant Indian Farm Workers

Here’s some massive good news for the Farm Workers. Suppose you are technically equipped with the know-how of the farmlands, in that case, it is time for you to pack your luggage to New Zealand because Immigration New Zealand (INZ) has recently announced a one-off residency visa to thousands of Farm Workers to apply for residence with an objective to facilitate the economic development of the country.

In the wake of this new Visa 1, 65,000 farm workers already residing in NZ now stand qualified for residence.

Waikato dairy farmer and New Zealand Shores Immigration Business Development Manager, Grant Coombes, posited that this scheme now helps farm owners to retain highly skilled Farm Workers. Because of the non-availability of such flexibility earlier, skilled farmers were leaving for Canada or Australia, where migration laws are more affable for Farm Workers.

Most Farm Workers in NZ that belong to the dairy farm category can apply for other roles in the primary sector now.

However, certain criteria need to be abided by. The applicant must have lived in New Zealand on September 29, 2021, possessing a work visa.

It is expected from the applicants that they meet one of the following criteria:

1.    The applicant should have lived in New Zealand at least for three years and more
2.    The applicants should have worked in NZ for $27 per hour, or
3.    The applicant should have worked in a shortage occupation that includes farmworker roles

Applications for the 2021 Resident Visa will be announced in two phases:

1.    From December 1, 2021, and
2.    From March 1, 2022

The new Visa Scheme also welcomes partners and dependent children of the primary applicant.

Dairy workers who were not in New Zealand earlier might also be considered eligible and be granted a class exception visa shortly.

Applications will not be accepted after July 31, 2022. The sooner you apply the better because visa processing for this particular scheme is time-consuming.

For INZ, it will be a very busy time accepting Visa application forms of the aspirants alongside determining the eligibility of the in-New Zealand Farm Workers and deeming them INZ-accredited for the residence program by July next year.

Grant Coombes says that it is the most crucial time ever in the immigration history of New Zealand. He also suggests people who consider themselves eligible to apply for the program and submit their application sooner to avoid delays.

A piece of news like this is both enthralling and bombards you with so many queries such as:

1.    Am I eligible?
2.    How can I get my eligibility assessed?
3.    What are the necessary documents?
4.    Who should I talk to?
5.    I read the article, but it is full of technical jargon. So, who will explain all this to me now?
